There are some projects where everything just clicks — the client has a clear sense of who they are, the work they do is genuinely beautiful, and your job is mostly to get out of the way and let that come through. The Laki Events + Design website was one of those projects.
Lara Jacobs is the owner and lead planner behind Laki Events + Design, a full-service wedding planning and design company based in Scottsdale, Arizona. She and her team specialize in the kind of weddings that feel deeply intentional — where the couple’s personality shows up in every detail, and the planning experience itself is something worth remembering. They also have an in-house floral department and a floral truck, which adds a whole other dimension to what they offer.
Lara came to me for a Showit template customization. She already had strong brand bones and her own voice — what she needed was a site that actually reflected the caliber of her work.
The Template: Studio West
We used the Studio West template as the foundation for Lara’s build. It was the right fit for Laki: editorial without being cold, elevated without being fussy. The layout gave Lara’s photography room to breathe, which matters a lot when your work speaks for itself.
The customization brought in Laki’s brand colors, fonts, and visual identity — transforming Studio West into something that reads unmistakably as Laki.
The Copy Piece
Lara came in with her own copy — and it was good. She had the voice, the warmth, and a genuine understanding of her clients. My role wasn’t to rewrite from scratch but to do a thorough copy audit: reviewing for clarity, flow, and strategic positioning, then refining headlines, sharpening section structure, and making sure the hierarchy of information was doing its job.
This kind of collaboration is honestly one of my favorites. When a client knows their business deeply and just needs someone to help channel it onto the page, the result tends to feel more alive than anything written entirely from a brief.
The Result
The finished site feels like Lara: polished, warm, grounded in real expertise. It positions Laki not just as a wedding vendor but as a genuine creative partner — which is exactly what she is.
