5 Reasons Why Your Business Needs a Website

I see it a lot…

“Does my business need a website? Hardly anyone in my industry seems to have one.”

“Does it really matter if I have a website or not?”

“People can check out my Instagram or my Facebook page, I’m not sure I need to invest in a website when I am just starting out.”

I know I am biased a bit as a website designer, but I think having a website is one of the most important components of getting your business off on the right foot. Not only does it give you a place to send potential clients that isn’t a social media platform (which you don’t own) but it gives you a greater sense of confidence in what you are doing. It legitimizes your business. It says “look here, professional business you can trust to work with!” Ideally it’s something that looks nice as well, but just having a website in general definitely gives you a leg up on your competition who is solely relying on their social media accounts.

I want to walk through 5 reasons you need a website. Whether you are a coach, a virtual assistant, social media manager, copywriter, you name it. You need one and you need one pronto if you want your business to be taken seriously. You can for real start doubling or tripling your client leads while you sleep.

One. A website gives your potential clients a clear understanding of what you do and how you can help them.

Your website should tell your visitors exactly what you do within 8 seconds of landing on it. That doesn’t happen as easily when they stumble upon your instagram account. If you are like me, you’ve got a variety of images and captions going on that aren’t necessarily always directly related to your business. It’s best to give your potential clients a place to go with less noise and confusion – a business website.

Two. It legitimizes your business and gives both you and your clients a sense of confidence in you as a business owner.

There’s nothing more awesome than feeling like your website is a direct reflection of you as a brand. When you love your website, you’ll be proud to send people there. You’ll be sharing it with the world. Your confidence will transfer over to them and they’ll feel confident in choosing to work with you!

Three. You can clearly outline your packages and services which means less back and forth with leads.

If you have everything clearly listed on your website, including starting prices, you’ll filter out non-ideal clients, and filter in ideal clients. This means less communicating with people who are not going to use your services in the end. Less communicating with people who cannot afford you. Less communicating with people who do not match your service provisions. This is a good thing. You don’t want to waste your time speaking to people who aren’t your ideal client, trust me. Your ideal client is out there and if your website is clear, those are the people that will reach out to you. Tired of answering the same questions about what you do and what you offer via facebook messenger? Then get a dang website and just send them there! 🙂 They can inquire further after reading up on you!

Four. House your portfolio, client testimonials and call to action all within one nice landing page that your visitors will see without the distraction of social media and ads around it.

If you are only using social media as a way to attract leads, you are fighting all sorts of elements. People are scrolling and enjoying stories on instagram, they aren’t necessarily looking to hire their next virtual assistant at the same time. So when that’s the only place you send them to, they’ll get lost down a rabbit hole fast, instead of reaching out to you. Send them to a place that is focused, without all the distraction, and all about what you can do for them.

Five. You’ll stand out among your peers and competition that do not have a website and win over more clients.

Trust me, most people these days are going to prefer to work with someone that they can validate as a business owner. The easiest validation – a website. You may hear from other entrepreneurs that you don’t need a website as a new business owner or to invest your money elsewhere. I disagree partially. I totally agree that you don’t need a CUSTOM website when just starting out. But I disagree with the statement that you don’t need one at all.

The whole reason I decided to start serving newer business owners is because I feel so strongly that having a (good) website will boost your client leads, but totally understand a custom design is not always in the budget. My website templates will give your brand the professional, high converting website you need at a fraction of the cost of many other things you could invest in that won’t have the same kind of ROI (return on investment).
